In Colonial Days, modern children spend a year in the life of the Mayhews, a colonial family of the Massachusetts colony. They'll follow Sara, Nathan, Benjamin, and Anne Mayhew through the year 1732. Along the way they'll get to try the crafts, chores, and games of colonial kids, like churning butter, dipping candles, playing Jack Straws, making Jack Wax and Maple Cream treats, and much more. These easy projects can be done with materials from around the house or the classroom. Learning history has never been so hands on - or so much fun! |
