Interview format involves students with information about their favorite President. On the front page, children present information about their chosen President including personal information, a portrait, a monument and the title and cover design for a book about the official. The center spread features a gallery of presidential portraits and sets the stage for an "on-air" interview. Students must fill in their President's responses to a series of questions. On the back page, students complete pages in a presidential photo album, mark significant events on a time line and fill an illustration of the White House with drawings or pictures of famous people or events from their President's term of office. This poster can be used in conjunction with the study of the office of President, and individual President or the electoral process. Students are encouraged to do independent research and must have an understanding of the person to complete some of the elements of the poster. It can become a valuable assessment tool as well as a portfolio selection. When students complete the poster in small groups, it can also become a great cooperative learning experience! |
