Students earn honorary citizen status as they discover fascinating facts about a nation of their choice. Page one asks students to complete a passport, draw their country's flag, create an emblem, fill out a fact file, draw a picture or make a rubbing of the currency and list the things they like best.The center spread lets students locate their country on a map of the world; draw an outline map; draw or paste pictures of traditional clothing; make lists of local topics. The back page has a space for a picture of the student's favorite place, some natural treasures or souvenirs, bumper stickers and an honorary citizen proclamation. This poster works well with a unit on a specific country and can also be used as a free-choice activity. Students can share the results of their research in an attractive room display or create a hall display for the whole school to enjoy.
