Skill Sharpeners Math, Grade 6 provides practice for the following mathematics skills: computing with multidigit whole numbers - all operations, solving two-step equations, multiplying and dividing decimals to the thousandths, calculating the circumference of a circle, calculating elapsed time, constructing and interpreting graphs, calculating with fractions, calculating prime factorization, greatest common factor and least common multiple, converting customary measure to metric measure, calculating area and perimeter, plotting ordered pairs on a coordinate graph. Parents have awonderful opportunity to support what happens in the classroom, inspiring their child's desire to learn. The math skills practiced in the Skill Sharpeners Math series are based on the five strands of the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) standards: number and operations, measurement, geometry, algebra, data analysis and probability. Each book in Skill Sharpeners Math contains ten units of grade-appropriate practice to help your child understand and maintain important math skills. After every unit, there is an assessment that tests your child's understanding of the skills covered. Some questions are presented in standardized test format. |
