Bullies, Bystanders and Change. Set in format of a classic radio play, Jeff's Journey is the story of a bully who finds himself bullied when he moves to a new school. Through his interaction with adults, friends and new acquaintances, Jeff comes to understand the consequences of his behaviour. There are 12 dramatic episodes on the CD with a large and engaging cast of characters. At the end of each episode "points to ponder" are offered for classroom discussion. The Jeff's Journey program includes an audio CD, 12 display posters, and a 120-page activity book. Each poster illustrates an episode and provides opportunities for discussion. The book includes reproducible activities, role-playing scenarios, teaching suggestions, and a complete script of the play for student performance or reader's theater. Jeff's Journey can provide the foundation for a school anti-bullying program. Teachers may choose to play one episode per week in class with time for discussion and follow-up activities. The radio play can even be broadcast over the school PA system as each episode lasts between 4 and 7 minutes and builds to a dramatic conclusion. The methodology used in the program is based on broad behavioral research and evidence-based assessment in actual school settings. |
